School of Earth and Environmental Sciences

The School of Earth and Environmental Sciences (SEES) in the Baylor University College of Arts & Sciences made its formal debut on June 1, 2026. The new School was created through an historic merger of two departments within Arts & Sciences - the Department of Environmental Science and the Department of Geosciences.

Leadership Team

Dr. Patrick Farmer, associate dean for research and graduate education in the College of Arts & Sciences and professor of chemistry and biochemistry, serves as the interim chair of the School. Dr. Dan Peppe, professor of geosciences, and Dr. Christie Sayes, professor of environmental science, serve as interim associate chairs.
