Research
Research in the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences (SEES) spans Earth and planetary systems, environmental processes, and human health. Faculty and students study topics ranging from the dynamics of the mantle and crust to water resources, climate, energy, environmental chemistry, and the effects of environmental exposures.
SEES students can participate in field, laboratory, and data-driven research with faculty mentors. Projects may involve testing a hypothesis, collecting and analyzing evidence, and sharing findings through presentations or publications. This experience helps prepare students for professional careers and graduate study.
Research often brings together faculty and students with different areas of expertise. SEES researchers also collaborate with colleagues elsewhere at Baylor and with other universities, government agencies, and industry to address complex questions about the Earth and environment.
