Energy Geosciences
Energy is a vital part of the global economy and geoscience is the involved in all aspects of energy development, acquisition, and production. Research in the energy geosciences at Baylor focuses on many of different areas including applied petroleum studies that combines traditional hydrocarbon energy research in stratigraphy, structural geology, and geophysics with cutting-edge modeling and reservoir characterization methods. We are also involved in characterizing, testing, and developing renewable energies including marine hydrokinetic and wave energies, and microalgal and macroalgal biofuels modeling with corresponding laboratory and field growth experiments.
